Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to the Vienna Private Driver website (vienna-private-driver.vercel.app).

Last updated: 9 October 2026

Level of accessibility

This website was built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA as adopted by the harmonised standard EN 301 549. In our self-assessment those requirements are largely met. The requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (BaFG), which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882, were taken into account.

What is in place

  • Text on plain backgrounds reaches a contrast ratio of at least 4.5 to 1, large text at least 3 to 1; text over photos and videos sits on darkened gradients.
  • All controls can be reached with the keyboard and the focus is visible; the menu on small screens and the day-trip detail view also close with the Escape key.
  • The "Pause motion" button in the footer stops every repeating animation and background video; the choice is remembered.
  • If "Reduce motion" is set in your operating system, the website shows its scroll-driven scenes as calm, static sections; no content is lost.
  • Images that carry content have alternative text; purely decorative elements are hidden from screen readers.
  • Pages stay readable down to a width of 320 pixels (equivalent to 400 percent zoom) without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

The videos on the home page are silent, purely atmospheric footage that carries no information of its own; they therefore have neither captions nor audio description.

Online booking on vienna-private-driver.com, which the day-trip details link to, is a separate website and not covered by this statement.

If you still come across a barrier, please let us know.

Assessment method

This assessment is a self-assessment carried out on 9 October 2026: automated testing with axe-core (rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, levels A and AA) with "Reduce motion" enabled after each page had been scrolled through completely, in German and English, on phone and desktop, for the home page, a service page and the legal pages; plus a check of keyboard operation (tab order, visible focus, closing with Escape) and of the layout at a width of 320 pixels.
